Smooth Sumac, Rhus glabra



Habitat: Mixed hardwood forests, waste ground, roadsides, alleys, edges.

Characteristics: Trees are typically between 4-15 feet in height, though taller ones are commonly observed. Treetrunks may reach 2-4 feet in diameter. The compound leaves are between 1-2 feet long and turn brilliant red in the autumn.
