Pawpaw, Asimina triloba



Habitat: An understory tree that prefers moist fertile ground, especially on slopes and bottomlands, roadsides, and clearings. Occasionally grown as an ornamental.

Characteristics: Pawpaw typically reaches a height of 15-20 feet and has a trunk several inches or more in diameter. The leaves are very long, up to 1 foot in length. The fruits are edible.
