Habitat: Originally found in the deep south, Catalpas are now
fairly widespread. It grows well in pastures, and along roadsides,
streambanks, lawns, and similar areas
Characteristics: Trees attain a height of 40-50 feet and have a
trunk 1-4 feet in diameter. The flowers appear in late spring and early
summer. The fruits are very long seed pods which resemble thin
cigars.
